April 29, 2022 /

This year's online Girls' Day coding workshop took place on 28 April 2022. The workshop was organised in cooperation between SFB 1313 of the University of Stuttgart and SFB-TRR 161 of the University of Stuttgart and the University of Konstanz.

This year's Girls' Day took place on 28 April 2022. Six girls participated in the SFB 1313/SFB-TRR 161 online workshop "Coding? I can do that! - Build your own screensaver" and learned the basics for programming their individual screensavers.

After a short round of introduction, the girls were introduced to the subject "What is computer science?". After the theoretical part, the practical part could begin. The girls started coding their screensavers in different virtual rooms with the help of their supervisors.

During the workshop, the girls had also the possibility to participate in a computer science quiz. At the end of the day, we had a winner who will receive a prize: a small robot that can be programmed.

At the end of the workshop, the girls had the possibility to ask their questions to the organisers of the workshop as well as to computer science students and doctoral students. Some of the screensavers could be shown and even be installed on the computers of the girls. The workshop day with the girls and the colleagues was a lot of fun and time just flew by.
