PRETTY POROUS – ALLES PORÖS
The SFB 1313 porous media science exhibition
The SFB 1313 science exhibition “PRETTY POROUS – ALLES PORÖS”, shown at the Planetarium Stuttgart, gives insights into the world of porous media in a playful way. It demonstrates how current research makes the invisible visible and invites visitors to explore porous media through interactive stations and exhibits.
The World of Porous Media
If we take a close look at ourselves and our environment, it becomes pretty visible: somehow almost everything is porous! The soil and the natural subsurface, the human body with skin and hair, various materials such as paper, asphalt or plastic are only a few examples. Whether biology, the environment or technology: porous media are everywhere!
What are porous media? Where can we find them? How do experiments and simulations help us to understand processes in porous media? And how does this knowledge influence our everyday lives? The exhibition of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1313 and the Cluster of Excellence SimTech (University of Stuttgart) gives answers to these questions and many more.
The exhibition is shown in the foyer of the Planetarium Stuttgart
