This year's Girls' Day Workshop "Coding? I can do that! - Build your own screensaver" is organised in cooperation with the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1313 and Collaborative Research Center-Transregio (SFB-TRR) 161 of the University of Stuttgart and the University of Konstanz.

This year, the world of porous media can be explored within the field of computer science. Coding is one of the main basic tools to research porous media. To learn the basics in coding, SFB 1313 offers together with SFB-TRR 161 the following coding workshop:

Coding? I can do that! - Build your own screensaver

Do you want to write your own programs that do exactly what you want? We will give you the necessary jump-start. In our workshop you can program your own screensaver. Do you want it to be colorful? Do you want to add a text? Should the patterns move? With us, there are no design limits. You can direclty implement your personal design and also adapt it later during your spare time.

During the workshop there will be a coding quiz where you can test your knowledge and win a prize at the end!

Prior programming knowledge is not mandatory for our coding course. You will get all the important information via mail before and during the workshop. There are also very nice helpers available to "look over your shoulder" and support you during coding. Of course, you can also ask us all your questions about studying computer science and find out everything about living and working on campus.

We are looking forward to code with you!

The Girls' Day is a nationwide event with the aim of promoting the interest of schoolgirls in science and technology. This year it will take place on 28 April 2022. Once again a wide range of institutions will take part with interesting activities relating to research and experimenting. The Girls' Day gives the possibility to get an insight into the field of natural sciences and engineering, as well as the opportunity to become active themselves.
