Two-month research stay by Ivan Yotov from the University of Pittsburgh

Prof. Ivan Yotov will be a visiting professor at SimTech and SFB1313 from May 15 to July 15, 2024.

Professor Ivan Yotov is a world leader in the field of numerical simulation of partial differential equations, focusing on discretization techniques, multi-scale solvers, coupled multi-field problems, and predictive modeling.

He obtained his Master's degree in Mathematics in Bulgaria before pursuing further studies in the United States at Rice University. There, he earned both a Master's degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D. Following his academic pursuits, he joined the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh in 1998, where he currently holds the position of Full Professor. Throughout his career, Professor Yotov has received numerous accolades and fellowships in recognition of his contributions to the field. His publication record is extensive, comprising 106 peer-reviewed journal articles and garnering over 6,300 citations, underscoring the significant impact of his research endeavors.
