Three-week research stay by SFB 1313 Mercator Fellow Ivan Yotov

May 20, 2025 /

Ivan Yotov is Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pittsburg (USA) and Mercator Fellow within SFB 1313. From 19th May to 6th June 2025, he will be visiting the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems and the SFB team.

Ivan Yotov is a professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pittsburgh and Mercator Fellow within the Collaborative Research Center 1313. His research interests are in numerical analysis of partial differential equations and large scale scientific computing with applications to flow in porous media, computational fluid dynamics, and biomedical problems. His recent work spans multiscale modeling of multiphysics systems of coupled flow and mechanics, advanced finite element and finite volume discretizations, scalable parallel solvers and preconditioners, stochastic modeling, uncertainty quantification, and parameter estimation.

Ivan Yotov's research stay is supported by SFB 1313.
