Successful application for the DAAD programme KOSPIE

April 5, 2021 /

The Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2), the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT), and Project Ö of SFB 1313 successfully applied for the DAAD-Programme “Combined study and practical stays for engineers from developing countries” (KOSPIE)

The Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2),the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT) , and Project Ö of SFB 1313 applied for the international DAAD exchange programme “Combined study and practical stays for engineers from developing countries” (KOSPIE) and are coordinating it. The programme is to start in the academic year of 2021/22 and allows a maximum of four Masters’ students of the ENIT per year, writing their final project ("projet fin d'études"), to join the research team at LH2.

About KOSPIE

As part of this programme, students enrolled at the ENIT are invited to apply for a 6-month scholarship at the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2) at the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems of the University of Stuttgart.

There has been a very successful cooperation in the field of environmental research between LH2 and ENIT for almost ten years. The focus of this collaboration is the development of models for the analysis and prediction of salt spreading processes in the subsurface and in historic buildings. This topic is especially also relevant for SFB 1313's porous media research as salt precipitation is a main topic within its research area C. The existing research cooperation between both institutions is a fruitful basis to give ENIT Masters’ students insights into the work of the University of Stuttgart and its non-university partners.
