Short Course "Mesoscale simulations for microfluidic applications" by Jens Harting

February 25, 2021 /

This SFB 1313 online short course will be given by Jens Harting (Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg) and takes place on 25 and 26 February 2021.

Jens Harting, professor from the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, will give the SFB 1313 online short course "Mesoscale simulations for microfluidic applications".

About the Short Course

The lecture summarizes research using computer simulations of a number of microfluidic applications including dynamic wetting phenomena, droplet dynamics, (colloidal) suspensions, biological fluids or transport in porous media. After an introduction the pros and cons of some available mesoscale simulation methods (the lattice Boltzmann method, dissipative particle dynamics, multiparticle collision dynamics, etc.), we focus on a few selected examples where specific methods are particularly suitable.
