We are glad to introduce our SFB 1313 guest Prof. Jan Martin Nordbotten from the University of Bergen who will stay at the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems of the University of Stuttgart from 29th January to 1st February 2019.
Jan Martin Nordbotten is a professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bergen and as part of the porous media research group. He furthermore holds a visiting appointment at Princeton Environmental Institute at Princeton University. Jan Nordbotten is a recipient of both national and international awards for his research, and is a former VISTA professor of the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters. His publications span the whole spectrum of applied mathematics, including both theoretical and numerical methods.
His research is applied to topics as diverse as ecohydrology, evolution, medical imaging, porous media and renewable energy.
During his stay, he will give a lecture during the SimTech Colloquium, entitled: "Mixed-dimensional modeling and simulation".
