Interview with Majid Hassanizadeh

October 27, 2019 /

Emeritus professor of Hydrogeology at Utrecht University

Kilian Weishaupt – SFB1313's doctoral researcher (research project A02) – had the great pleasure to interview Majid Hassanizadeh, external researcher of SFB 1313 from Utrecht University. Just recently, he was appointed Mercator Fellow for his dedication to SFB 1313 and to porous media research. From October 7 to 11 his was our guest and gave a short course on "Capillarity in porous media at different scales".

In the interview we get to know about the long history of cooperation between Majid Hassanizadeh's working group and the working group of the University of Stuttgart. He tells us about his PhD life at the time and the difference to nowadays challenges. He also gives his opinion about the importance of interdisciplinary research work and what porous media researchers can learn from other research fields and vice versa.
