Review

On May 14-17 2018, the 10th Annual Meeting of InterPore – The International Society for Porous Media – took place in New Orleans, USA. It is an international conference and at the same time a platform where researchers from different research areas and scientific disciplines, such as Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanics, Biodynamics etc., have the possibility to exchange views, results and information on porous media during symposia, lectures and other contributions.

Some of our SFB 1313 members (e.g. Rainer Helmig, Holger Steeb and several doctoral researchers and PostDocs involved in SFB 1313) also attended the annual meeting with different contributions, including an invited poster presentation about the subject “Coupling free flow and flow in porous media in technical and environmental applications”. This topic is one of the main research projects of the SFB 1313 research area A.

InterPore is a non-profit-making independent scientific organization established in 2008, which aims to advance and disseminate knowledge for the understanding, description, and modeling of natural and industrial porous media systems.

The 11th Annual Meeting of InterPore will take place in Valencia, Spain, on May 6-10 2019. Find here further information about this upcoming event.
