Rainer Helmig, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems at the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems (IWS) of the University of Stuttgart and former SFB 1313 spokesman is awarded the prestigeous "Geosciences Career Prize" of the SIAM Activity Group "Geosciences".The SIAM Activity Group on Geosciences Career Prize (SIAG/GS Career Prize) is awarded every two years to an outstanding senior researcher who has made broad and distinguished contributions to the field of geosciences.
The prize will be awarded at the SIAM Conference on Mathematical & Computational Issues in the Geosciences (GS25) to be held from 14 to 17 October in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.
