The SFB 1313 funded work "Droplet motion in a microfluidic channel under the effect of contact angle hysteresis" won a Best Poster Award at the 30th GCCCD Annual Conference on 11-13 October 2018, Karlsruhe, Germany.

This study, carried out by Guang Yang, Alexandros Terzis, Sihao Deng, Dr. Xu Chu, Prof. Bernhard Weigand, and Prof. Rainer Helmig, provided both experimental data and numerical simulations of the internal fluidity of a droplet in a microfluidic channel, which will be further extended to a porous media flow.

The Society of Chinese Chemists and Chemical Engineers in the Federal Republic of Germany (Gesellschaft Chinesischer Chemiker und Chemieingenieure in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland e.V.  – GCCCD), founded in 1988, is a nationally organized association of Chinese students and scientists of the field of chemistry, chemical engineering and other related fields, living in Germany. The GCCCD aims to promote the communication and cooperation between the scientists and chemical companies from China and Germany and to exchange ideas and experiences in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering.
